The 1995 Year Group of the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Aburi, returned to their alma mater for a memorable three-day homecoming celebration from June 5 to June 7, 2026, under the theme: “Celebrating Our Legacy, Inspiring Future Generations.”
Dubbed “Three Decades of Grace and Shining,” the reunion brought together former students from various parts of Ghana and abroad to reconnect, reflect on their journey, and give back to the institution that played a significant role in shaping their lives.
The event commenced with a warm welcome ceremony, followed by a series of activities aimed at strengthening bonds among alumni and contributing positively to the school community. Members participated in a health walk, jogging exercises, and a campus clean-up exercise, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining the school’s environment and promoting healthy living.
One of the highlights of the homecoming was an inspirational session held at the college auditorium, where accomplished members of the 1995 year group shared their life experiences and professional journeys with current students.
The speakers included distinguished professionals who have excelled in diverse fields, including law, academia, banking, public service, entrepreneurship, and business management. Their stories served as a powerful source of motivation for the students.
Addressing the gathering, the alumni emphasized that while the institution trains students primarily for the teaching profession, education provides a foundation that can lead individuals into many other successful career paths.
They encouraged the students to remain focused, disciplined, and open to opportunities, reminding them that their future is not limited by their current academic program.
“You may be training to become a teacher today, but life may open doors you never imagined. With determination, hard work, and continuous learning, you can become a lawyer, lecturer, banker, entrepreneur, or leader in any field,” one alumna advised.
The alumni also stressed the importance of integrity, perseverance, and lifelong learning as key ingredients for personal and professional success.
The homecoming served not only as a celebration of friendships and shared memories but also as a platform for mentorship, inspiration, and strengthening the relationship between past and present students.
As the event concluded, members expressed gratitude to the college administration for their support and hospitality. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the growth and development of the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education and contributing to the success of future generations.
The 1995 year group left behind a lasting message of hope and inspiration, demonstrating that thirty years after graduation, their legacy continues to shine brightly and impact lives.
